Walter Bibo and our mysterious singer

Apparently, Walter Bibo discovered the mysterious female who sings "Let's Go Sunning" in the 1954 movie Garden of Eden.

Perhaps learning more about Walter Bibo may help solve the mystery.

  1. Just want to say really admire your work, and it would be really nice to find out about this vocalist! I think she really sounds like Ella, but just like so many people have said, it would be awkward not to credit her due to her fame. Hope one day this mystery can be solved...:)

  2. Well I have read somewhere that Ella Fitzgerald didnt want to be credited in every film. In this film, if she really was the singer, it would be obvious that she didnt want it. Altough, like in Jazzwax said, the singer was a nobody, pretty young... and the interviewed doesnt remember the name, so it cant be her. Otherwise, such a voice has to be involved in something else... lets ask Sherlock Holmes for help first xD

    1. Well it definitely wasn't Ella. Though the vocals are pretty fairly done, Ella's voice was much more vibrant and dynamic.

I read somewhere that Jack Shaindlin's wife was asked about this in an interview by some blogger. She said that Jack complained about the female vocalist of this song ironically. Something about how it took her forever to hit the notes correctly. And then she added that the singer was a no-name probably hoping to make a name for herself. Basically she herself had no idea who the singer was and thought naught of her at the time lol

So I think the singer is doomed to anonymity unfortunately.

    2. Wow, people still find these sorts of obscure blogs? I thought I was the only one. I always love finding unknown investigations of strange mysteries from an era gone by.
